Being a Singing Star Takes Courage
-
Are you destined for singing stardom? How are you going to get there – to stardom? Do you have a plan? Do you know the right people? It’s so easy to sit back and criticize singing stars. Do I wish they would sing in tune? Yes. Do I long for real musicians to be the singers getting the public’s attention? Absolutely.
There are so many elements that have to come together to make a star. Talent, ability, money, the right support group of coaches, luck, and determination and courage. You have a to be a pit bull about your career. Not in a nasty way, but you must lock your jaws on what you want to accomplish and never let go. And that takes tremendous courage.
A student of mine and I had a discussion about this. As you study voice and your voice becomes more and more free, it becomes more and more frightening – like you are naked in front of this audience. There’s great risk in being vulnerable to your audience. You need the courage to hang in there no matter how scared you get. Watch this video for more insights.
