Being a vocal acting coach means that I help actors connect to the words in a script through fully engaging the mind and body in speaking the words given to you by the playwright. There’s a magical transformation that takes place when the actor truly connects to the words they are saying.

Actors can get into a rut with their monologues – and of course, monologues are your resume and need to be in top shape to get you work. What I see is that actors get on the ‘proven track’ with the monologue and do it basically the same way every time. It’s when you get off the track and let the words affect you that the magic begins.

There is ‘something’ that happens when an actor is in the moment and speaking the words clear and strong that transcends the mediocre and propels your acting to the highest level. As a student of mine says about my holistic approach, ‘it frees that elusive creative force that cannot be named.’
